Product Update – April 11, 2010: Views, Privacy, Ownership and More

Over the weekend we updated VoiceScreener to greatly enhance its usability. First, we stripped out the necessity for a campaign to belong to a department or client. Don’t worry, past campaigns will still have that data associated to them. But, this is not a requirement anymore moving forward. Campaigns are now viewable by everyone within an account, rather than setting up security layers based on departments. This was our most requested change, and we felt it was an important one.

That doesn’t mean you can’t keep data private or filter campaigns in a usable fashion, however. Included with this change were three great enhancements to campaign management.

Campaign Ownership and Privacy

When creating a new campaign, you may now select who is the owner of the campaign. This is very useful when customizing views. VoiceScreener will keep track of both the owner and the creator of a campaign. Setting this option on previously existing campaigns is possible.

Additionally, you may now select whether a campaign is discoverable by all colleagues, or private only to the creator and owner. This is important if you would like a level of privacy with a campaign.

Customized Views

You may now create customized campaigns views within the application. Our users have the ability to set up a view based on any number of conditions, such as the creator of a campaign, creation date, campaign name, department, client,

Setting up a new view is easy. From the Dashboard, click on the “Create New View” link above the list of open campaigns.

Give the view a name. You have the option to set it as your default view. Then, customize as many filters as you see fit. The example below is a view for all campaigns from a certain set of team members a manager might want to check in on. You may select three ways to look at the filters: any, meaning a campaign that matches any one of the conditions; all, meaning the conditions must all be met; or advanced, which allows you to customize via a query.

After creating a view, you have the option to copy, or share, the view with others. Doing so will create a copy for each person you share with. Each recipient may then delete or edit the view as they please without affecting others.

Once back on the Dashboard, you can then select the view of your choice, and the screen will update automatically filtering to only the campaigns who match your conditions. Editing a view is a breeze as well: With the view selected on the Dashboard, click the “Edit” link to see the same layout as creating a new view.

We are very excited about these updates as they heighten the usability of the application to all users. Stay tuned for a webinar schedule to signup for additionally explanation and training on the new view and security system within VoiceScreener.
