VoiceScreener Tip – Edition #1: Anti-Gaming Features

We mentioned in a previous post how the importance of quick thinking is reflected in the way candidates are only able to answer a question once. When using the “Interview Now” feature, however, we understand how candidates might try to game the system by re-taking an interview.

To counter gaming, VoiceScreener watches for the same name, e-mail, and phone number candidates use when taking an “Interview Now” interview.

Various measures determine if a candidate can take another interview. For example, if it’s a different name and e-mail, but the same phone number, we allow the candidate to take the interview in case the same number is a home number, dormitory number, office number, or any other place where more than one person could interview from.

Once inside VoiceScreener, any candidate who has matching information will have a yellow warning sign. This indicator will follow the candidate throughout the application.

VS Tip - Edition #1 - Gaming Alert

If you click on the yellow alert icon, you will see a list of all candidates who match. This view will allow you to take a look at the possible gamers, and hopefully will help with reviewing.

VS Tip - Edition #1 - Gaming List

The list itself will highlight in yellow all the items that match. We track the name, e-mail, and phone number, so those are the ones to look out for and judge by.

If your instinct is that a gaming flag isn’t warranted, you may remove the flag on the candidate’s profile page.

VS Tip - Edition #1 - Clear Flag

We feel like these initial measures have greatly helped prune gamers from VoiceScreener, and have saved our users’ time when reviewing candidates. Customer feedback we have received tends to agree.

As a user, have you had a use for our gaming feature? Do you have any tips on how to make it better?
